What is the main difference between CEMS MIM and MBA Programs?

The CEMS Master’s in International Management Program is a pre-experience degree, which targets new graduates and candidates with less than 3 years of professional experience. Moreover, students are expected to spend one semester abroad, which will be followed by an international internship. The CEMS MIM program targets students that are interested in starting careers in Multinational Companies.

When are the CEMS MIM and KOÇ MIM application deadlines for the 2018-2019 Academic Year?

The application deadlines for the CEMS MIM & KOÇ MIM Programs for the 2018-2019 Academic Year are:

Early Application deadline is January 15th, 2018.

Regular Application deadline is April 30th, 2018.

Late Application deadline is June 1st, 2018.

What are the application requirements for the CEMS MIM and KOÇ MIM Programs?

The criteria for CEMS Admissions are as follows:

  • To have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university;
  • TOEFL or IELTS score (min. score 600/100/250 or IELTS 7.00) - If you are a graduate of Koç University, Sabancı University or a University that is accredited by EQUIS/AACSB you are exempt from TOEFL/IELTS and expected to fill the University Degree Section*
  • GMAT or GRE score is an asset. The scores should be sent to institution number 0163;
  • To complete the application form as specified;
  • To submit an official academic transcript from the undergraduate institution;
  • To submit at least two reference letters**;
  • To submit the application fee payment slip;

* You should request ETS to send your official TOEFL and GMAT scores, if available, to KOÇ University. Institution Number: 0163
** Reference letters which will be submitted directly by your referees.

All applications will be submitted via https://gradapp.ku.edu.tr

  • You will be asked to write 4 essays (the second part of questions)
  • Once the application is concrete and complete, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
  • After submitting the application, you won't be able to make any further changes.
  • The same login information can be used to check the status of the application after the submission.

Selected applicants will be called for an interview by the Graduate School of Business. The candidates will be asked to read and study a short article before the interview and answer related questions as part of the interview process.

Can I send my application documents by mail?

All applications must be submitted via http://gradapp.ku.edu.tr. Only online applications will be considered.

Do I have to take the GMAT exam prior to my Application? Is ALES accepted?

GMAT exam should be taken prior to the application.

ALES Exam is not required for MIM applications.

Who should write my recommendation letters?

There is no restriction on who should write your recommendation letters. However, candidates are advised to provide at least one of their recommendations from a business professional. This person can be someone you have worked with during any kind of part-time/ full-time job.

Are my recommenders obliged to fill in the recommendation form?

The recommendation forms have been prepared to facilitate the task of your recommender. However, recommendation letters in essay format are equally welcome. In order to upload the essay, the recommender can use the upload button in the recommendation page that s/he is redirected to through e-mail notification from the Graduate School of Business.

Does it matter whether our transcripts are in English or in Turkish?

Transcripts can be presented in English or Turkish. Foreign students who possess transcripts in languages other than English or Turkish are required to have their transcripts translated and approved.

How are interviews arranged?

Interviews are arranged after the candidate completes and submits the online application.

Do you have a minimum for undergraduate GPA?

There is no minimum GPA requirement, however having a higher GPA is to the candidate's advantage. GPA of the last two academic years is taken into account.

Is taking Business courses at undergraduate level a requirement?

Taking Business courses (at least 10 courses) at undergraduate level is a requirement of the programme. Koç CEMS MIM also accepts applications from students whose Bachelor's degree is not in a business-related field. Students holding non-business undergraduate degrees are expected to participate in the pre-master program.

How much is the application fee and where do I pay it?

The application fee for the 2017-2018 Academic year is 80.-TL and the fee is going to be paid to Yapı Kredi Bank, Koç University Branch, account number: 386235.

How much is the tuition for CEMS MIM and KOÇ MIM Programs for the 2017-2018 Academic Year

The tuition of CEMS MIM Program for the 2017-2018 Academic Year 63.400.-TL.

The tuition of KOÇ MIM Program for the 2017-2018 Academic Year is 63.400.-TL.

Are dormitories available for MIM students?

MIM students are provided off campus dormitories in Sarıyer.

Is a thesis required for completing MIM studies at Koç?

In accordance with the regulations and requirements of the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK), the CEMS MIM and Koc MIM degree requires no graduation thesis.

Can I visit your campus and attend a class?

With prior notification, it is possible for candidates to visit the campus and attend a lecture.

When can I complete the CEMS graduation requirements for Internship Abroad?

The candidate can either take the internship abroad prior to the Fall Term or following Spring Term.
